Da luoghi profondi io grido a te, o Eterno..... Io aspetto l'Eterno, l'anima mia attende l'unico che la puo' liberare dalla fossa della perdizione, dal fango della palude. Questo dolore vibra attraverso le parole degli spirituals e le voci dei cantori. Ma, nell'attesa fiduciosa della risposta dell'unico Dio fedele, ripete l'invocazione con la semplicita' e con l'innocenza di un bambino che si rivolge a papa'. Non importa se e' ripetitivo nella sua invocazione, ma persevera costante, adorando l'unico Dio benigno e compassionevole. Gospel e' dolore, ma Gospel e' gioia di gratitudine all'unico Dio che ha liberato dalla schiavitu' del peccato, dalle tenebre, dai demoni: tanto intenso e' il dolore, quanto intensa la gioia. Tutto cio' lo senti tangibile nelle voci vibranti dei fratelli di colore. L'aspettativa di questa vibrante preghiera-adorazione non e' stata tradita nella manifestazione Asti Gospel 1997. Asti da qualche anno ospita tale manifestazione (sponsorizzata fra gli altri da Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Asti, Unione Industriale) organizzata e diretta in modo eccellente dalla Associazione Musictus guidata da Walter Aresca. Per quattro sere, da sabato 20 a martedi' 23 dicembre, si sono susseguiti sul palco artisti dei quali dire "bravi", e' davvero poco: Tom Lane, Free Voices, Ginger Brew, Anno Domini Gospel Choir, Edwin Hawkins, Gospel Girls e Palata Singers. Per la sua umilta' ho molto apprezzato Edwin Hawkins, sebbene sia conosciuto in tutto il mondo quale autore del famoso "Oh Happy Day". Una nota sorprendente e' stata la partecipazione di un gruppo di giovani torinesi, gli Anno Domini, guidati da Aurelio Pitino. Il pubblico ha mostrato di apprezzare le qualita' artistiche dei vari gruppi ed ha partecipato cadenzando con le mani il ritmo dei canti. Naturalmente, quelli di noi credenti, non hanno mai dimenticato che il tutto si svolgeva alla gloria del Signore; per i non credenti e' stata questa una buona occasione per meditare sia sulle parole dei canti che sui brevi messaggi d'invito a cercare la salvezza, inviati dagli artisti. Per quanti, come me, sono venuti da altre regioni, e' stata anche una buona occasione per conoscere Asti, l'ospitalita' degli astigiani, qualche loro prodotto tipico come la "polentina": un bocconcino di gradevole dolcezza. Infine, per me che vengo dai dintorni di Teano, fatidica cittadina dove e' stata sancita l'unita' d'Italia, ho avuto modo di scoprire il balcone dell'albergo dal quale G. Garibaldi arringo' al popolo, prima di partire da Genova diretto a Marsala, per incontrarsi infine con Vittorio Emanuele a Teano. E' stato un buon tempo quello trascorso ad Asti. Arrivederci! They had been prepared with an enormous effort and were finally produced very successfully. The many feedbacks coming in during the last few days have been very positive and encouraging. An enthousiastic audience received the artists EXO (in Payerne only), ALBINO MONTISCI & BAND, CARLOS MARTINEZ, BRYN HAWORTH & BAND and JUSTO ALMARIO / ABRAHAM LABORIEL with praise. All sets were produced very professionally due to an excellent crew. The front-of-house-mix as well as the stage-mix and the creative lights contributed much to the success these concerts had. The focus of these events was the theme „Celebrating 20 years of Friendship“. Celebrating longterm, trustful relationships and friendships between musicians, promoters, audiences and production-crews. By an interview and the introductions of the different sets as well as through the comments of the artists themselves the value of these deep relationships became visible in a very personal and touching way. The highlight was the concert on Sunday in the Zurich Kongresshaus with the presence of about 150 invited guests coming from Sweden, Holland, Belgium, Germany, the Czeck Republic, France, Italy, Spain and many from Switzerland. A very special surprise was the delivery of a CD, specially put together for this 20-year-Jubilee, by Markus Frehner to Jean-Daniel v.Lerber on stage. It’s a sampler of 16 songs of groups/soloists out of the 20-year PROFILE concert calendar, bits and pieces of an Interview with Larry Norman dated 1977 and a crazy „out-of-tune“ Live-Recording of one of Marchstei’s songs (the former band of Jean-Daniel). All songs are personal contributions by the bands/artists. The whole work to realize this complex project was done by Markus Frehner and Matthias Heimlicher. They did it all in complete secrecy! The cover is based on an artwork entitled „In Love and War“ of Swedish painter Janeric Johansson who was present in Zurich as well. He presented the original painting and commented it. Finally ADIVAN pressed this CD in time in a limited edition of 1’000. It turned out to be a gift to everybody present at the Zurich concert! Unfortunately the number of concert-goers to these 3 Festivals remained under the expectations of the promoter. Planned and budgeted for about 3’000 persones, only 1’700 turned up. Presently, similar experiences are being made by many concertagencies and concertpromoters. It will take some time until the consequences regarding next steps will be evaluated in their full sense. This Jubilee has shown in a stricking way that culture made by artists with a christian world view has a strong impact. PROFILE is determined to continue to promote these artists. Even the TAGES ANZEIGER (Zurich’s biggest newspaper) wrote in its review dated January 27: „...so it occured to happen what had given the name to this event: Friendship between the band and its audience. The ditch between stage and audience disappeared. A worthy celebration implementing the concerns of PROFILE.“ Filled with a big portion of motivation and joy PROFILE is looking forward to continuing to put these concerns into practice. Molte di queste pagine sono realizzate su siti che offrono pagine gratuite, ma che obbligano all'inserimento di noiose (e spesso ambigue o addirittura "negative") campagne pubblicitarie: per di piu' si tratta di siti che soffrono spesso problemi di stabilita' e velocita' di collegamento. Idea: perche' non offrire da musictus.com lo stesso servizio gratuito di Geocities, Tripod, Aspide, ecc.? Ovviamente solo per pagine con contenuto di cui sopra o per homepages personali di tutti i "musictusanti". Per favore chi potrebbe essere interessato si faccia avanti e nei prossimi giorni valuteremo il da farsi. E' la prima volta che scrivo una e-mail a voi di Musictus. Lo faccio in merito al meraviglioso spettacolo che ho visto a Lugano. Come per il caro amico Simone, pure per me e' stata una profonda delusione notare il Palacongressi semivuoto. Non e' pero' stata una delusione l'essere uno dei "pochi" privilegiati ad aver potuto godere di una serata come quella del 24 gennaio. E' stato bello sopratutto vedere l'umilta' dei musicisti sul palco. Credo che nel mondo della musica, ma dello spettacolo in generale, il rimanere umili e' una sfida a cui solo in pochi sanno resistere. E questi pochi sono poi quelli che hanno messo Gesu' come priorita' nella loro vita. So di alcuni giovani (ma non solo) delle chiese ticinesi, che si sono lamentati del prezzo del biglietto. Ma questi stesse persone non esitano poi a spendere di piu' per andare sciare, o per vedere una partita allo stadio, o di pagarsi l'entrata in discoteca. "Chi ha orecchie per udire oda"! Tirando le somme, l'investimento migliore e' stato quello di aver speso dei soldi per sostenere fratelli che lavorano per l'opera di Cristo. E il livello artistico offertoci aveva un valore ben maggiore del prezzo del biglietto. Un livello che ben difficilmente trovi nel mondo non cristiano, ad un prezzo del genere, ma sopratutto non per spirito di guadagno, ma per la Gloria di DIO. Difatti uscendo dalla sala, a molti di noi e' rimasta in mente l'improvvista di Laboriel, che ci ha guidati in una lode magnifica facendoci cantare il salmo 113 (se ben ricordo). Non c'e' dubbio, per molti e sfuggita per le mani l'occasione di assistere ad una magnifica serata dove Dio ha agito e benedetto i cuori di molti. Io sono tra questi. Well, let's move on... mi fa molto piacere ricevere notizie della gloriosa Italia e di sapere che anche se lentamente la musica cristiana va avanti. Voglio espandere sull'idea di Simon Paul (Dicembre 97) riguardo ad un Sondaggio Questionario per Musicisti Italiani...forse da tenersi tramite e-mail. Sono felicemente impegnata nel Music Team nella mia chiesa "Lakeshore Community Church" qui a Rochester (per quelli interessati, e' una chiesa che si ispira fortemente a Willow Creek in Chicago) e ho personalmente creato un questionario che tutti i musicisti della mia chiesa (o aspiranti) compilano... cosi' ve lo mando con qualche correzione visto che e' usato in un contesto un po' diverso. Spero possa davvero essere di aiuto, io sono al "settimo cielo" perche' ho il privilegio di far parte di un gruppo di musicisti in gamba qui nella mia chiesa. Il Sondaggio Questionario forse avra' bisogno di correzzioni, fate pure... pensavo proprio che Simon Paul aveva avuto un'ottima idea. Io personalmente credo che i musicisti italiani devono essere piu' uniti e aiutarsi a vicenda, con talenti, tempo, idee e concerti vari... Cosi' saro felicissima se posso in qualche modo contribuire al progresso dei tanti "talenti" (alcuni forse nascosti) che il Signore ha dato a tanti fra voi. In Gesu' Cristo c'e' una gioia che ci fa cantare e suonare della vita con le sue giornate di gioia e di pensieri felici ma anche di quelle giornate senza sole...in cui abbiamo ancora di piu' bisogno del nostro Signore!!! NOI che conosciamo la Sua Presenza, NOI che viviamo le Sue Parole siamo chiamati a servirLo e a raccontare del Suo piano perfetto di amore e pace per ogni uomo e donna...
