The show was at a local high school (Northmont H.S.) so there weren't many people there, maybe a hundred or so. I was very close to the stage. It was so great. I had only heard one of their songs before going to the concert so I didn't know any of the other songs that they played. I didn't realize that they were that good. One thing that I can't stop thinking about is when the guitarist yelled into the strings of his guitar. It made an awesome sound and I thought that was so cool. He did just about everything possible on a guitar. I wish I would have gotten a chance to talk to them after the show. I've been listening to BTS for over 2 years now, and only recently realized this! PotM sounds so loose and unstructured compared to VotI with its regular repeated guitar figure. Plus the percussion accompaniment in PotM is such a contrast to the guitar in VotI that it makes the whistle part sound so different (and just right) in each song. That's one of the things I like best about Iona -- even after listening to the same CD for a couple years, I'm still discovering things I hadn't noticed before. Thanks to those who posted news of Joanne's new CD. Will definitely keep my eyes out for that one! PS: Some time ago someone posted a link to some real audio tracks of "rare" Iona tracks. One of the pieces was recorded during the BTS sessions - another piece with Brendan in the title. SO should I assume you discovered the same melody once again as the piano line in "Adrift", and as a sort of tie-up lead guitar theme in "Brendan's Return"?
