It would be nice if alot more people dropped by though! The room meets Sundays at 2PM Eastern, or 1900 (7PM) UTC. Having said all that, the room will NOT meet this Sunday at the regular time. My church is going to be delivering food and Christmas gifts to some needy families in our community, so I will be involved with that. I will try to be back at my house by 3:30PM Eastern time, which is 20:30 UTC. I will open &Lindisfarne then. Starting Sunday, Dec 28, &Lindisfarne will go back to it's 1900 UTC time. It's on Sunday!!! From what I've gathered by looking at all the addresses that frequent my Macintosh here at NASA (work) is that "most" of them ARE work or school addresses. Like me, these people might not have internet access or e-mail access during the weekend. Make it available during work hours and you might find me there once in awhile. Merry Christmas and keep in touch, Roger J. ><> I sent this to Jason cause he had mentioned something about that yesterday... I play drums on the Praise Team at my church, and my fiance and I get there at 9:15 to teach the youth (until we get a full time youth Pastor). Then we have warmup practice time, sound check, and prayer. Then the service starts at 10:30 and we usually don't get to leave until 12:30-1:30, depending on how the Lord is moving on any given service, (altar calls, healings etc.). I've burned up a lot of energy playing drums, I'm hungry! Then we go have lunch and walk around the mall a little so she gets exercise, (I've had plenty) and then if her feet are hurting her, we'll go back to her apartment, and she'll take a nap on the couch while I rub her feet and watch TV to relax, and come back at 6:00 to do it all over again. And anyway I don't have internet access on the weekends. This is the computer I use at work. I'm an illustrator at NASA and have a Mac I draw on all day. I'm not hooked up yet at home, and with all the garbage out there I don't know if I will. The network marketing business I'm in to prosper and stay healthy doesn't allow Internet sites to promote their business, (because people have a tendency to just claim all kinds of things and miss-represent the Company), if they did allow us to have a webpage, then I would get "hooked" up immediatly...but I'm glad they don't. I've seen companies go down the tubes because someone said something that was not true about them, and BOOM...no more Company. Tomorrow I'll mail your check, thanks again. It's been exceptionally quite here of late, with the holidays and all. Now we can all hope the conversation will pick up. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone - I hope the Lord has blessed each of you in some special way during this holiday season. Randy, I checked out the Ajalon site - sounds like a great band and ministry. Does your banc just play locally in the Washington area, or do you travel around the US (and/or other countries)? I noticed the musical description on your band as being a cross between classical and progressive music. Without trying to pin you down to a style or sound, would you say the style is (say) similar to Iona, or would it appeal to those of us who like Iona? I noticed in the pictures that Ajalon is a trio, with drums, bass, and guitar (looks a little Rush-like!). Do you use keyboards also? Any other instrumentation? Does Rick Wakeman produce your band?? Are your CDs commercially available? I first saw Iona at the Creation Christian music festival in Mt. Union, Pennsylvania (5 hours from my home in nothern New Jersey). Any chance Ajalon will perform at something like Creation or Cornerstone? Creation is going to host a festival for the first time this year also at "The Gorge" in the state of Washington. Visit the Creation site at http://www.CreationFest.com/ for more details. Take care everyone, and God bless. We have only been playing in the Washington area so far, however we are hoping to tour in 98 both here and in the UK. > I noticed the > musical description on your band as being a cross between classical and > progressive music. Without trying to pin you down to a style or sound, > would you say the style is (say) similar to Iona, or would it appeal to > those of us who like Iona? I'm sure that you would like it if you like Iona. But I think it is more acurate to say that we are a christian Prog-rock band. So our influences come from YES, Genesis and other Prog-rock bands of the genre. Our message is decidedly Christian and the music stands on it's own progressive merit. I have had some Iona fans who bought the CD reply very favorably when the old list was up. I think that some of our music has been influenced by Iona. I think it shows more in the songs that we have not recorded yet. The next album will no doubt feature some of these compositions. I noticed in the pictures that Ajalon is a > trio, with drums, bass, and guitar (looks a little Rush-like!). Do you > use keyboards also? Good observation. In a perfect world Ajalon would be a 5 piece iwth a few backing vocalists. However right now we are a three piece and it is similar to Rush in the way we run our keyboards on sequence. I tend to write alot on keyboards. Any other instrumentation? As of now the other instrumentation is limited to the penny whistle in which lead singer Wil Henderson plays on a new Celtic influenced piece called "Anthem of the Seventh Day." I think another similaritie is that we have alot of musical passages in our music and our songs tend to be longer than shorter. > Does Rick Wakeman produce your band?? Rick did not produce our CD. We did that ourselves and then released it on cassette. It was this cassette that we sent to Rick and he signed us. He has taken it and released it for us on Hope records. It is available in England and Germany. It will be available in the US soon but we are still ironing out details in our US Distribution. It is available from the band directly by mail order. Unfortunately that is the easiest way to get it. > Are your CDs commercially available? > I first saw Iona at the Creation Christian music festival in Mt. We will probably tour from Chicago to NY area as this is a much stronger market for our kind of music. Visit the Creation site at > http://www.CreationFest.com/ for more details. Thanks for the info!
