Here's my Desert Island Top 10: Iona - Book of Kells Echolyn - Suffocating the Bloom Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Return to Forever - No Mystery Pat Metheny - First Circle Jean-Luc Ponty - Enigmatic Ocean Frank Zappa - Guitar Michael Hedges - Live on the Double Planet Milton Nascimento - A Barca dos Amantes* My apologies to any Jimmy Swaggert sympathizers on the list, but I do consider Zappa to be one of the great musicians of the 20th century, and Guitar, a 2 record set, is a seamless (no pauses) edit of his better live solos (no vocals or comedy music) from the 70's-80's. Most of the others speak for themselves, and you will notice a tendency towards prog-jazz artists, too, in addition to prog-rock. I admit that I didnt enjoy Mark Heard as much until after Ideola. The CD's are EXTREMELY rare and are big bucks. I first heard of Chris through the Mark Williamson Band (whatever happened to that guy?). Eaton's latest album is pretty good, but not as upbeat as Vision. Chris is a great songwriter though. I suppose you like Phil and John, too. Some Iona members play on their recordings (obligatory Iona content). The title song was for four months in the top position of our Christian music charts. Also his new album, "Cruisin'", is excellent. I especially love his melodic and harmonious ballads like "God So Loved The World" and "Shooting Stars". In some ways his voice reminds me on his last album of Marillion's post-Fish singer , Steve Hogarth, whom I liked very much.
