Sometime, I'm the ONLY instrumentalist, and being part Irish, I guess the Celtic comes out of me and I can play more melodically so as to Lead the Praise Team instrumentally, and the really cool thing is, they KNOW where they are in the music, even though there are no real "melodies" as they would put it. Well I'm not Jenny but I would really recommend Mark Heard's music for anybody that wants some quality music (mainly folk based) and some incredible lyrics (this guy is up there with Bill M from VOL). I started listening to them both with their first albums and they have both managed to keep my interest for the last 20 yrs. That is the mark of a true artist. I must admit that I listen to the music of Mark Knopfler with Dire Straits and other various incarnations more than any other artist. I never cease to get caught up in his brilliant guitar playing. I hope this clears things up for you. I guess I need to work in the word Iona in here somewhere so here goes. Does anyone know the significance of the island of Iona? Here are my DIDs, chosen for practicality and variety that reflects my tastes, not necessarily for a "progressive" musicality: 1. Iona - Heaven's Bright Sun 2. The Beach Boys - Endless Summer (how could you be on a desert island and not have the BBs?) 3. Bob Marley - Legend (see #2 above) 4. Enya - Shepherd Moons ("Caribbean Blue" would be perfect!) 5. Michael Brook - Cobalt Blue (progressive instrumentals for chillin on the beach) 6. John Hiatt - Perfectly Good Guitar (straight ahead rock & roll by a master of songwriting) 7.
